March in Room 5.
We celebrated 'World Book Day' in March and we enjoyed reading 'Little Red Riding Hood' together, and using special voices for all of the characters in the famous fairy story.
To mark the St. Patrick's Day Festival and Lá Glas we had a week of fun activities. We painted and decorated some shamrocks and made a St. Patrick's Day milkshake. We also conducted an experiment and dyed some hard boiled eggs with green dye. We were excited when we peeled our eggs to discover green eggs! We also enjoyed doing some céilí dancing and room 5 was the perfect spot for a Siege of Ennis! The children also enjoyed listening and joining in to the beautiful ballad 'Molly Malone' every afternoon.
For Mother's Day we made and typed some lovely Mother's Day cards that we posted after a short walk.
Gillian and Katie kindly put on a puppet show for us as part of the 'Stay Safe Programme' as we learned about bullying, telling and saying no.
As part of our preparations for Easter we decorated eggs and had an Easter egg hunt. Finally, we made some lovely chocolate Easter nests that we took home in an Easter basket. We definitely deserved a treat after all of our hard work in March!
